getting this synth sound?

getting this synth sound?

2003-01-17 by jtemprile <jtemprile@yahoo.com>

I threw up a file in the files section - part of a Tears for Fears
tune. Does anyone know how to get that arrpegiated synth out of the
AN1x.

Cheers,
Jt

Since I love that song (always have), I'll try to field this one.
It sounds like an analog synth in Unison mode- (reminds me of my old
OB-8)

You could get this by...

1. detuning some sawtooths in a patch on the AN1x -
2. putting it in unison mode- (Filter 85-90% open)
3. & either of these:
	a. arpeggiator on- in one note mode
	b. LFO square wave Modulating the AMP section
	c. just tap it out repetitively while sequencing it- then quantize to
16th notes.

It sounds like there is some filter differences each time the note is
sounded-
so you may want to run a Sample& Hold or Random LFO to the filter
cutoff in small amount.

Thanks for the advice - I learned a lot just tweaking - I still
can't quite get it, I keep getting Pink Floyd/One Of These Days
types of rumbles, which is still tres cool.

Anyone else try to get this sound?
