By all means set the free eg so the fine tuning drifts-I usually put 
a slow drift from -2 to 2.Try tuning some of the oscillators a fifth 
above or below(add 7 or subtract 5 in the tuning section).Always have 
some kind of vibrato.

No offense to any of these hallowed machines, but the AN1X is a much 
better machine.More versatile, more reliable.

This is, without question, true.  But the 'tron was very clever and
very effective.  My 'tron experiences were almost 30 years ago, at the
same time as Arp and Moog.

Since life was simpler then, it seemed like we could spend more time
making music and less time as a technician, sysadmin, etc.
