Ribbon controller problems...

Ribbon controller problems...

2002-12-30 by Warren Herron

Hello and Happy soon to be New Year to everyone!
I'm going a bit nuts with this ribbon controller. I read in the manual
that when you assign it to pitch, when you take your finger off it
automatically centers. Well, it does do this. Problem is, it is doing
it to everything that is assigned there. My understanding (which could
be very wrong here) was that it would hold the last value on all other
parameters other than pitch... Any help would be VERY appreciated as
this is incredibly irritating. Is there some master switch I need to
set? I'm hoping this is something simple...
Otherwise I am having a blast with this baby :) This is one amazing
piece of gear... Takes a while to get your head around it, but WOW!
Nice sound. My other gear has been taking a serious vacation since the
blue beast arrived :)

	Best to you all,

Hi Warren,

Check the archives; this issue was discussed as some length a few months back. It seems to be a bug/feature of the AN1x, and if my memory serves me right it happens when certain settings are programmed into the synth, and not in other cases. It's a bit frustrating, but I think you'll have to learn to live with it -- the AN1x has been out of production for quite a while, and I doubt that we'll see any more firmware upgrades.

Regards,

-BW

Thanks for the heads up Bruce,
Bummer... Shame they didn't fix that one... Guess I'll just have to
work around it :)
