knobs of effects

I set the control matrix so that knob 4 controls the wet dry control for the effects. I set the wet dry mix to 64 dry. The sound was still very wet. I turned the knob-no change. I set the mod matrix to +64, -64, and direct. No change. I also tried setting knob 4 to control comm 1 delay, and comm 2 reverb. I have no idea what those are but I was hoping to get more delay and more reverb when I turned the knob up. No luck. I've been playing with the phase shift and delay effects. They sound nice but the take away a little of the crispness and the definition of the sound.So using a knob to turn it up and turn it down would be real nice. Thanks in advance.
