Duff OS?

Duff OS?

2002-09-08 by gndjm23964

Hi All,

I cannot get any version of AN1X edit to work with my AN1X. Is it a
problem with my version (1.0.2) of the OS. It communicates fine
with other devices, both MIDI in & out.

Gary.

I previously had a problem with AN1xEdit, but it ended up being
the Midi interface. Try going through another interface.

Hello Gary,

Could you please provide some additional information regarding
your problem: What platform and OS release are you using?
What make and model MIDI Interface or Game/SoundCard?
Which version of the drivers for your MIDI Interface or
Game/SoundCard are you running?

If you review the message archives for the AN1x-list here at
Yahoo! Groups you'll find this not an uncommon problem. The
SysEx size for the AN1x is unusually large compared to most
MIDI sound modules/keyboards and as such data transfers
between AN1xEdit and the AN1x can be problematic with an
inferior MIDI Interface.

Post back some additional details and mayben somone can
help get you going...

regards,

Jon

I have a Mac G3 laptop 266 (serial/SCSI) running OS9.2 and a
Macman midi interface. I get error messages when I try to upload
banks of new patches.

Gary.

Hi Gary,

Please check out this link to a write up in the Tips & Tricks
directory within the Files section of AN1x-list here at Yahoo!
Groups. This write up addresses OMS, AN1xEdit and Serial MIDI
Interfaces:

You might need to cut & paste the URL into your browser if the
wrap around text does not work...

icks/tt_an1xedit_not_receive.htm

...let me know if this work for you.

I helped some kid with an old, 2nd hand PB1400 some months
ago using another freeware app - I'll have to dig up my notes
because I found something regarding the 5x000 series too. The
PB1400 had a crap shared parallel/serial port which was no
good for MIDI. The later PB5x00 series had other issues I think...

Jon
