I'll start contributing patches soon. My wife has started working so
the next big purchase will be a computer.I've been programming like
crazy. My goal is to get rid of most of the presets.

I've been using preset #33, Wonder, quite a bit. Works well in a lot
of funk settings. Also with the ribbon controller set to filter (I
think it is in the factory setting but I may have tweaked it) you can
use Wonder to go from a funky percussive sound to a nice abrasive
lead sound. I took scene two and gave it a little more sustain for a
bell-like quality. With the modwheel set to morph you can get a
variety of useful sounds out of one patch.

Survived a great freebie wedding gig last night. It started with the
bassist getting a shock from the mic, then the power blew (at night
outside)the drum set broke, an accordian player sat in with us, our
Space Animal bassist "fell asleep" after numerous Margeritas. We
ended our set with the drummer's stool breaking and him falling over
backwards. Yee ha!

The cheeziest moment of the night was when we played Stand By Me with
the accordian player doing an extended solo and me with a home-made
string patch playing bad 70s pads behind him.

I'll post some new patches soon. I've been working on a good square
wave lead. I found the keyboard tracking, the pulse width, and the
filter envelope really change the sound.

Also, I've been trying the Band Elimination Filter. By itself the
sounds are a bit harsh, but if you rolll back the edge parameter you
can get some nice musical sounds.
