bands needed for upcoming compilation CDs

2002-06-07 by martyrcomplex1

Cleveland, OH, electro-industrial cartel ShutUpBitch!Produktions (SUB!
Produkt) is currently accepting song submissions for our upcoming
compilation CD series. SUB!Produkt plans to release one compilation
bi-annually covering the genres of darkwave\goth (Summer 2002), and
industrial\electronica (Winter 2002).

Each will be a run of 1000 CDs, shrink-wrapped and bar-coded for
online and retail sales. The first 50 CDs will be distributed to
club and radio DJs in the northern Midwest United States, with
another 50 given away at a CD release party to be held here in
Cleveland, OH. The remaining 900 CDs will be split evenly between
the bands selected for the CD. This is an excellent opportunity to
get club and radio play in the northern Midwest, as well as helping
to introduce a new region to your music.

The cost of this compilation CD will depend on the total number of
songs selected and running times for each song. Estimated price for
inclusion on the compilation CD is $100-$150, depending on the total
number of bands involved on each CD. Prices may not be consistent
from one compilation to the other, as one comp may have more or fewer
bands than the other. The maximum time allowed per track is 4:30.
Shorter songs allow for more bands to be on the compilation, lowering
the price for everyone.

The deadline for song submissions is July 10, 2002. Submissions can
be digital (mp3 downloads, no streaming audio) or hardcopy (CD only
in WAV format, no tapes or minidisc). Accepted songs may require
additional mastering to ensure volume levels are consistent with Red
Book standards, however, no mastering fees will be assessed.
SUB!Produkt has a digital engineering studio and we will handle all
remastering at no cost to the bands.

Upon selection, each band will receive a contract outlining the
agreement for the compilation. This contract allows a non-exclusive
agreement for SUB!Produkt to release a compilation CD featuring each
band, with payment rates and total return (CDs each band will
receive) stated.

Submissions:

Email your mp3 URL to subprodukt@... and list the names of
any tracks you would like to be considered. Do NOT email mp3 files
to this address, they will bounce due to size limits. In the email,
include your name, band name, band location, tracks we should listen
to, and any other bio you would like us to take into consideration.

You can also mail us a CD (no tapes or minidiscs) in WAV format to:

Please include a list of all WAV files included on the CD, and please
name each WAV file appropriately: band name - song name.wav
WAV files should be recorded in stereo at a minimum of 44khz and
peaks should not clip. We require WAV format submissions in the
event we need to remaster the tracks for volume or equalization
purposes. And remember to keep song length under 4:30, please.

Submission deadline is July 10, 2002 for the Summer 2002
compilation. Selected bands will be notified on or before July 16,
2002. Selected bands will have two weeks from that date to submit
their payment via personal check or money order. The CD is scheduled
to be released the week of September 8, 2002, and each band on the
compilation should receive their copies of the CD that same week,
barring any delays from the manufacturer. Shipping and handling of
CDs is included in the price and will be noted in the contract.
Bands will not have to pay any additional fees other than the
contracted price for inclusion on the compilation.

Please address any questions, URL submissions, or other general
concerns to subprodukt@... (subprodukt at hotmail dot com in
case this gets truncated, as usual on Yahoo Groups).
