Jaun,

There is an excellent introductory article regarding FM synthesis 
in the March 2002 issue of Keyboard magazine - 'FM in a 
Nutshell' by Jim Aikin p. 132. I checked their website but it has 
not been made available online (yet.) 

But, there is an even better tutorial available from their web site:

This tutorial is most useful when using the freeware 
Soundforum synthesizer from Native Instruments (Mac/Win). The 
principals can be applied equally well to the AN1x or anyother 
synth that offers frequency modulation.
