That's exactly it!- I think there is a lot of confusion over warmth.
-most warmth from old records is usually the recording path and
not just the source (although that helps).

I love the AN1x just as much as anyone else here, but I must speak of one
of the AN1x's worst flaws: An output boost control. Yes you can make some
speaker shredding basses, but unfortunately a lot of them turn out to be
underpowered in the amplitude category, especially Moog-type sounds. The
end result is very, VERY inconsistent output levels from patch to patch.
One sound will be blazingly loud, the other timidly quiet, yet both the
sound output parameters would be set to 127.

Yeah tell me about it!- actually my AN has been responsible for blowing up
many a soundsystem. I've got loads of chinagraph pencil marks around the
volume knob- different settings for different tracks/sounds!- I suppose
that's what you get (like Organic food), for this current trend of everything
fat and 'club-friendly'- in fact it's not- just a bloody pain in the arschen!

PS When is Yamaha going to release a VST pluggin of the AN1x?- I guess you
have all heard the news of the new Emu VST E4 pluggin?- can't wait!
