The Waldorf Q is a *very* nice synth - I got to check one out about 6
weeks ago. The XT's are very popular right now too. At least two or of
my friends and acquaintances have bought an XT in the past month. Not
really comparable to a Q but an interesting synth. I'm so jealous :-0
can't wait to visit for a 'jam session'. I think the PPG 2 VST Synth is
all my budget will permit - ha ha ha

I'm going to piggy back my short wish list along with yours:

1) I'd like the Arp/Seq to transmit Note Events when LOCAL = OFF
2) When the Tempo is set to MIDI (for sync to MIDI Clock), I'd like the
synth engine to trigger from the physical keyboard when my software
sequencer is in 'Record Pause' mode. As it stands, you have be in record
mode to trigger Note On Events when MIDI Sync is enabled *sigh*
3) MIDI Sync LFO's would make life easier too. Oh yeah, and transmit
MIDI Clock too ;-)

Jon

Hm, to me it seems that some of the features can be easily fullfilled
with a new OS-system update. What a shame, the AN1x doesn´t has Flash-
ROM´s...which would be the next point on my wishlist for a new ANxx.
What about the User Interface? More knobs and sliders? Bigger display
(more UI means also higher price)?
What would musicians to see on a new one, who want to gig with it?
A slot to save sounds on smart-cards? Better, maybe bigger keyboard?

A CS6x or A3K type display would be great by me! I'd like the Rotary
Knob to be replaced with a column of individual buttons (like the A3K) too.

Flash ROM is a 'flash in the pan' ha ha - I bought my ASR-X Pro instead
of an original ASR-X *partially* because of the inferred promise of
future OS updates. Whether it's an EEPROM or Flash update you're still
at the mercy of the manufacturer *sigh* Still no OS update or bug fixes
for the ASR-X Pro. I hear the SCSI on the new yammie samplers is the
same as the SU700 and A3K (not good.) Why didn't Yamaha take advantage
of the opportunity to reengineer the SCSI bus? No Flash Rom update is
going to fix *that one*!

I think the 'up & coming' companies are making wiser use of Flash Rom
type features than the mainstays.
