Yeah, I'll hug and kiss her.... I think you should take a look at that new lexicon thingy...I heard good things about it. The thing with the turbo FX is that they work like 'regular sends' per output. So if you use a normal mixer + external FX you do the same thing, only with a better quality. Those filters on the EMU are top-notch aren't they?

Yeah, filters were the purpose i bought it! I am pretty novice (not hidding that since beginning anyway i feel thanks to such discussing groups we - rookies could become pros, can't we) so i wanted to discuss the thing i felt - mixer+fx would be better. I am 32 but only just now i could afford a tiny studio and do these all wondeful thing with these wonderful machines. Regarding Lexicon - yeah i read about them but they are pretty expensive. The only mpx100 i could concern with my pocket now. And about which one did you think. And thinking of mixer - i 'm regrding buying the Mixim10 from Midiman. It gives ability to connect everything back to PC. How do you think - it is good choice or you have some other experience. Thank you for your concern, Piotr

Hey, there's no law against editing your mails. Adding two lines at the top of almost 360 lines TWICE is a bit of a waste. - Peter

Phonic also makes great mixer, with at least the same quality as Behringer, and they are less expensive. FX-boxes, look for a second hand BOSS SE50/SE70, i have a SE50 and it works like a charm. All FX you need and you can chain FX the way you want it. Plus you can get them for a low price. I got mine for 150.- DM (new they were around 800...) --Tom

I have to say that I just bought a Behringer MX1604A and MPX-100 and am very happy with both. I considered the Phonic, but a lot of people don't have anything good to say about them. The construction of the Phonic compared to the Behringer seemed a little cheaper to me, also. The manual for the Behringer sometimes reads like old stereo instructions, but I'm making progress. The Lexicon Manual is very good and detailed. bruce w. orlando, fl

Yeah, the behringers are about as budget as I'd recomend anybody to go. I think they offet the best bang for the buck at a 'just reasonable sturdiness'...the sliders and buttons are not flimpsy only by a hair's width. (I own the mx2004 myself)... If you do get a behringer get one with the sweepable mid and remeber: but more ins than you think you'll need...(you'll ALWAYS NEED MORE) it's just very cool te reroute your effects into a new channel for further processesing (i usually eq my reverbs to get rid of the low frequencies, stuff like that) btw NICE to see a thread that bears my name :)
