Tom,

You know it's weird. I remember when it was standard to get a dust cover with any fairly valuable electronic equipment. Dust is really bad for all electronics...it can cause all sorts of problems over time. But one day they just stopped including them (and offering to sell us specialized covers sometimes at really inflated prices.)

A while back I tried to find sources for dust covers to all my stuff, keyboards, preamps, disk recorder, etc. my wife ended up sewing some for me so I never used the links I found but for what it is worth heres the info I got from the net:

Here is one:

based on chris' email from this morning, i just ordered a cover
for the 1680 from http://www.lecover.com ... $15 + shipping,
and they come in black or gray. (shipping was $5 from chicago
to va)

Here is another (the guy was really helpful and willing to give a quote on in email)
With zip-and-go convenience, each square or rectangular bag is custom
made to meet your needs. Made from our Prosoft Plus Padded Cordura fabric,
our bags are twice as strong as bags costing twice as much. Industrial
strength zipper with two sliders opens on three sides. Each bag has built-in
handles made from 400lb per inch polypro webbing. You won't find that at the
department store! Great for pedal boards, small amps & monitors, most
keyboards, mixers, heads, snakes, power amps, tools, odds & ends -- you name
it! Give us the actual height, width and depth of your equipment and we will
get you a price quote. Be very accurate since their are no returns allowed
on custom made bags or covers. Some weight and size restrictions do apply.
Available with optional shoulder strap. For color pictures and more
information, check out our web page at: http://www.tukicovers.com

That's all I had. There must be a cheaper way though...I thought of some really cheap plastic ponchos we used to buy in camping stores, or try and get creative and think of items that are about the same shape and if there is any chance of picking up something that way.

Good luck,

Jim
