My recommendation is that you read the manual and do all the examples, they
will give you great picture what you can do with it...

> Or did i do right or wrong bying it.

;-D ... I think that it's your decision ... ;\ufffd-D ... though I'm very happy
with my AN200 which is working for me as a sound generator, so I'm not using
pattern sequencer at all... what I mean is that there are as many usages for
a such a device than there are different kinds of people, you just need to
get to know the product and then you'll know.

Cheers,

Timo, Thank you for your reply.
Indeed it is my decision. I just thought of an200 as a great sound generator
as you confirmed and sequencing in my computer. By now i haven't got it yet,
still waiting for ordered one. Formely i read milions of opinions about
lots of gear and i had to make decision not having a lot of money still
dreaming of analog sound, you know. I understand you sequence an200 with
computer or something else? It is because i am really tired of looking on
the screen (each day 10 hrs.at the office is enough), i'd prefer to buy a
sequencing thing (may be second hand sp-808), could you advise anything.
If you had any idea and be so kind to write t me once againg i'd be
apreciated, if not thanks anyway,

cheers,
Piotr.

Read the manual - follow the examples and ask SPECIFIC questions that
can be answered.

> Or did i do right or wrong bying it.

?!???! Opinions shouldn't really matters - whether it was a good or bad
purchase depends on what you get out of the experience. I assume you're
relatively new to synthesis and drum computers - I think the AN200
would make as good a 1st purchase as any other comparably priced unit.

if this is the list for everything that starts with AN, then could my mate dave please join?? He collects ANglegrinders and ANal Plugs, he'd love to join, but not before it's official, Ooonnnly Joking, This list is great, I have benefited som much from it, and I think the AN200 is wicked,
I connect my an1x to a step sequencer sometimes, and the results are superb , so I'd love to own the an200, and a DX200, great little boxes. Does anyone here have mp3's of their songs on the net anywhere to listen to??? with AN1X sounds??
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Ronald,

One warning about AN200 :-/ ... there are plenty of features you can access
using its knobs... but there are some important (depends?) features that can
be accessed only using the software editor... and umhp, there you go -
staring a screen again :-/ ....

Me, yes I'm sequencing with computer, but I cannot really tell you anything
about hardware sequencers or things like that... oops, now I lied... I used
to have Alesis MMT-8 hardware sequencer and it was really easy to work with.
You can find them second hand quite cheap.
http://www.vintagesynth.org/misc/mmt8.shtml .

But don't worry I'm sure you're going to fall in love with the sound of your
hopefully soon arriving AN200 ... :-)

Cheers,
TimoS

Hi Timo,

As i saw they boundled some software to the unit i was sure it's more to
achieve on the screen. I know i won't avoid it but sometimes i think i will
organize some parties and it would be fine to make it more live.
Thank you for your words anyway, i am sure i will fall in love with it. I am
totally rookie but very desperate to make some music despite i am 32 years
old.
For sure i will get in touch as i am more familiar with this all and maybe
not asking those fundamental, silly questions, God help us!

Thanx,
Piotr

that multi saw on the an200 is huge....just freakin' love it.
luckily i got other gear to pick up the polyphonic slack. but
believe me, even with just 5 notes that little tweak box can sound
quite large.

it sure beats the phatboy/plg150an combo that i once had. ;-)

get yours today!

I have not got ma lovely an200 yet (it's in way shipped) but i read it can
have 32 note polyphony - how do you archieve it if you really do?

Thank you,
Piotr

an200

2001-10-24 by jas stone

Hello all,

Got a an200 a few weeks back as a transition from
percussion to a electro/live band set up. Great sounds
out of the box. The thing is I find it a bit silly on
a few fronts.

Being unable to scroll through the various synth and
drum sounds to create your own set up is pretty week.
Is there a way to do this? I don't want to go through
all presets to find that one cowbell sound.

Also the an200 doesn't seem very useful live. Building
patterns would be great but you have the silly
metronome click track while you're in record mode.
Again anyone know how to record with out this.

Is there other models out there that I should look at?
Perhaps a Korg.

Give me feed back. Thanks

Andrew
