Wondering, solo scene in Local On (a bit late ?)

Wondering, solo scene in Local On (a bit late ?)

2001-08-27 by D. Rave

I have had my AN1x for two years now, but never before today did I dare to ask for this question : is there a way in dual layer mode to
play each scene separately without a MIDI system ?
When playing with Local turned On, I only manage to play both scenes of a voice. I have only found two workarounds : either use the
morph function with the mod wheel to change the sound (but then some parameters are changed), or use my MIDI sequencer to
access each scene on Rx Channel 1 or 2.
Split mode does not do the job for me either.

Any ideas ? I guess I should have read that bloody manual in-depth.

Sorry for asking such an obvious question but, why don't you just use
the Scene select buttons to toggle between the active scenes? If this
isn't what you're looking for then I've misunderstood the question.

Rainbow Jimmy and Jon,

Well, as far as I know, this only works in Single mode. What I want is a quick jump from scene 1 to scene 2 in DUAL mode, so that
I can use each scene separately from the keyboard without cakewalk AND without modifying the layer mode (all my patches are in
dual mode).
But I guess I'm demanding too much from my (otherwise beloved) AN1x.

Thanks for your help.

I think you've reached the point of diminished returns. I now
undertstand your question and don't see a way of accomplishing this -
unless you're going to route your MIDI connections into a MIDI Patch
Bay. Mayeb use some kind of foot pedal to reroute ch. info to the AN1x
on seperate Rx Ch's for each Scene.

Why are all your patches in dual mode?!? Nevermind, pretend I didn't
ask...;-)

All,

Let me take a moment to plug one of my favorite "MIDI glue" devices, the
MIDI Solutions Router. This little line-powered device can split out and
re-channelize almost any MIDI message. I've used it to re-map the Mod
wheel from one synth to another, to divide up the Program Change messages
among a series of modules, and to filter out unwanted information from the
MIDI data stream. It's less than $100US (street price), and one of the few
items in may arsenal that I will never part with.

And no, I don't work for MIDI Solutions!

Regards,

-BW

WHAT ??? SINGLE MODE ?
I've just discovered that you can access both sounds in SINGLE mode... I've always believed Single would allow only one scene at a
time... Damn myself...
You saved my life. Time to convert all my patches...

See you,
