The Yamaha AN1x Synthesizer mailing list

I have a plg150-an card in my cs6x, and I've rtfm's many times tonight and
in the past but something just is not working according to what the manual
states. I'm trying to sync the plg card's arpeggiator and step sequencer to
midi clock.

The manual says to twiddle around the menus and change the "Tempo" setting
to "midi". There should be the options of "vce", "midi", and "40-240". I
don't get the "midi" option for some reason. The only way I was able to set
it to midi was if I turned the knob all the way down and then press the
INC/YES button once. the "midi" option isn't there when I twiddle the knob.
Does anyone else have this problem?

My second problem is that I don't hear anything when I set it to midi. The
CS6x syncs fine to midi clock, as does my MicroModular. The PLG card just
won't at all. What gives?

It used to sync fine when I had the card hooked onto my SW1000XG as the
host. I've been tearing my hair out for a few hours. I haven't seen anyone
else having this problem.

Strange...sounds like the issue is specific to the CS6x. Have you 
checked the CS6x list?

In my experience with the AN1x, a Voice will not sound when the Tempo 
is set to MIDI unless the unit is receiving MIDI Clock from an 
external source. It makes sense when you thing about it - when set to 
MIDI how else would the unit 'know' what tempo the ARP/SEQ should 
playback?!

At least you know the PLG150AN card is functional.
