Welcome to the list. Check the Files section here at Yahoo! Groups.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x-list/files

There are plenty of free AN1x Voices. Feel free to create a Folder
and upload your own sounds :-) .AN1 format is the standard (AN1xEdit)
and you're encouraged to compress your file before uploading (.zip is
the norm but .sit is okay too.)

regards,

Jon

Once upon a time ampfea was Teklab - also sponsored by Jay Vaughn - the original
sponsor of AN1x-list along with the Music Bar and a-list (for A3000 user's). In late '99
their server(s) were experiencing chronic fail overs which led to service interruptions to
AN1x-list. After one such event AN1x-list was not recovered promptly and some
enthusiasts restarted the list at eGroups and it wasn't long before many of us migrated
over and solicited other ex-list members to rejoin the new list. eGroups was eventually
bought/sold by Yahoo! who - at the time - provided a competing service in the form of
Yahoo! Clubs where some other ex-list members had started the AN1x User Forum. Since
a core group of us were moderating/participating on both we opted to combine the
resources of both into AN1x-list and archive the Forum for the existing members (back in
'02).

As the half dozen or so individual AN1x web sites eventually shut down, much of the
content (Voices, Tips, etc.) was moved onto the AN1x page I'd started (most of us had
begun to network by that point) and from there it was moved onto this list following the
shutdown of my page. ASRXCITE was brought online at Geocities at the same time, but
that's a whole other story ;-) So, for the most part this list IS the original Teklab list PLUS
all the independent resources developed by some really great contributors! And for the
past couple of years we've welcomed many more AN200 user's into the fold and that
seems to be working out for everybody.

At some point (I'm uncertain of the exact time) ampfea sprung from the ashes of Teklab
and seems to be flourishing these days. The patch data base you found seemed to be
popular with the a-list for awhile, but AN1x-list had established itself by that point and
has been focal point for AN1x user contributions ever since. Ampfea has a very active
Access Virus list (I think Jay Vaughn works for them now?) and the Music Bar and a-list are
still there - I think there's an ION list too.

Jon
