2001-05-22 by DMANX@talk21.com

Hi,im an amatuer in analog synthisis, but im having trouble asigning LFO to VCA,VCO and VCF modules in anxedit.Iam trying to learn to create my own sounds instead of using preasets. So how do i assign a patch to these modules,i tried reading beginers guides and anxedit manuals but found no answers.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Um , for this basis assignments there are already 'preset' destinations so to say ... (so you don't need to use Modulation Matrix)
Take a look at "PMOD" knob in VCO area (it's a LFO1->VCO modulation)
"FMOD" in the VCF area (rightest knob) - that is a LFO->VCF mod.
and
"AMOD" in the VCA area ...
With those knobs you can get positive and negative modulation of those param's by LFO1.
I would advise you looking at the lowest (help) line when clicking on the controls - the description is there.
Also check the tutorials in the AN1x Manual - they are good starting points for learning Analog Synthesis.
Ray.

There's also a pretty decent beginning tutorial located at Yamaha's sponsored site at:
http://www.digitalmusicworld.com/html/hardware/SynthSeminars/an-e/index.html
It takes you step by step through some common steps. Some of the links to the vqf sound files are incorrect, and you'll need yammie's vqf player to hear them, but there's lots of graphics .

best,
