this seems to be a good place :)
to sounddiver:
i have the latest version of the patch but it has not the fx section.
an1x edit is cool but doesn´t work together with logic at the same 
time...i´ll try out the older yamaha editor it looks very basic but 
it has all you need...if that doesn´t work i´ll do a logic enviroment
for fx and freeeg only cause it´s the best solution for me...

i´ll have os version 1.02 should i upgrade to 1.04???

Oh, you're using a Mac? Okay.

Couple of things...

1) Check out the Read ME file for the original Mac freeware editor 
from Yamaha. It says it "requires" Apple's MIDI Manager to 
communicate with a MIDI Interface but, if MIDI Manager is not 
installed it will default to searching the Modem port for your MIDI 
Interface. Why Yamaha's programmer chose to implement MIDI Manager I 
have _no_idea_ but at least they implemented an acceptable work 
around. I've used it two or three times for fun...

2) When you say Logic and AN1xEdit will not work together then I 
assume you are NOT using OMS? If you use OMS with the 'Run MIDI In 
Background' option enable both Apps can be run simultaneously. Post 
back if you need/want help with OMS.

Check out the Jetsonic web site for his AN1x Environments. There are 
two: one for the Step Sequencer (which works VERY well) and a second 
for the Variation effects:

I've not had success making the Variation Effect environment work 
correctly and I've not made a closer look at in weeks :-( Currently 
using LAGM v4.6.2 - haven't upgraded to v4.7 yet. Maybe you can have 
a go at it and post back to the list.

Yamaha provided a basic AN1x Environment with the Quick Disc file 
posted some years ago. It's a good, basic enviroment but there are 
some parameters missing:

I've been working on my own modified version of the Yamaha Enviroment 
that includes the missing parameters but it's sitting unfinished due 
to time contraints. I'd be happy to pass on a copy if you like. 
Important: the Yamaha AN1x environment requires the AN1x to be 
in 'Mode 2'.

There's a PLG150AN specific environment posted in the LUG directory 
at Swiftkick.com:

I've only made a cursory review of it and don't recall whether the FX 
parameters were included or not. It might be worth your while to 
double check and maybe cut & paste into your own envirnment code.

That's really up to whether you consider the bug fixes worhtwhile. If 
you're not bothered by the few items addressed by v1.04 then save 
your time and energy. Otherwise, go for it! Here's some background

i´ll tried out a bunch of stuff this evening...
an1xedit doesn´t work for me cause i think that logic don´t shares a 
midi.port of unitor8 with oms...i run oms in background but an error 
occurs and after canceling the editor doesn´t get through the synth
i only use oms for the iac driver and that works good...

the older editor also works only as standalone...but i like this 
simple editor more than the good looking an1xedit cause the knob 
handling is bit weak......and the little one has it all too.

i tried out various enviroments but i think i really need to build a 
new one out of it all....as soon as i´m ready i´ll post it...

Just curious, what's the error message you receive when using the 
Unitor8 w/ OMS? And you have the option 'Run MIDI In Background' 
checked on (EDIT--> OMS MIDI SETUP...--> RUN MIDI IN BACKGROUND) Are 
you using v2.3.8 or earlier? USB or Modem port?

Try out the Variation Effect environment from the Jetsonic URL I posted 
in the previous message - please let me know if you do AND you can get 
it working. I'd appreciate hearing from ANY other Logic users 
whether they have it working (Win or Mac.)

it says something like port is already in use...
i´ll try it again later to get more infos...
i use oms 2.38 with modem port.

it works for me....only the big button doesn´t work useful...
a hint if it doesn´t work for you...
don´t change the settings for the sliders....you only need to change 
the instrument/port settings on the variation page and it should work
(check your device no. on an1x)
