I agree wholeheartedly, im running win2k advanced server and i'll never go
back...the amount of control you have over your system is far more superior
to that of win9x engines and much more stable (provided you do thave at least
256mb ram, i just upgraded to 450mb-ram is ASS cheep right now so i suggest
you buy some)....Regular Win2k is almost just as good as what i'm running but
you don't need 256mb ram to run it smoothly-so if you arent networking this
one is for you...The only issues i've ran into with Win2k is that computer
companies not supporting it with their drivers and firmware-which isnt MS's
fault...get pissed at yourself for buying a "Best Buy Superstore" consumer
grade machine, and at the company who makes the box for not supporting it-not
microsoft....

WinMe is *CRAP* this is where the industry is going to seperate your grandma
from the real (and even decent users) It is going to continue degrading
itself until it's like the Toys'R'Us OS....Internet explorer is no longer
going to be developed for this thread of OS WinMe will be using MSN Explorer
instead *shudders*.....Internet Explorer is going to only be available for
Win2k engines....WinXP is going to be pretty cool because they are getting
rid of the 3D buttons and all that crap so that will free up a small bit of
resources and stuff as far as graphics go-it sounds like it will be ugly, but
it's not too bad actually, i've used "Windows Whistler Advanced Server"-the
beta version of WinXP, we have it in our studio, it actually doesnt look too
bad should be a cool thing-the only concern I have is that supposedly you
will only be able to use this OS if you have a constant connection to the
internet-and it looks for it's product key when you install it-if it's on
another machine it says "nope, don't think so, i've already been installed on
another machine"....I have my doubts in how effective this will be in both
the legit and warez worlds *shrugs* we'll see how it goes...
