It is a PC patch generator for AN1x Edit.
It is dead easy to use and gives excellent results.

Re: AN1x Genetix v0.2

Jim,

>Can you tell me what it [AN1x Genetix] is?

Charles-Emmanuel's program is a neat tool for when you have an idea of what
you're looking for, sonic-wise, but don't really know how to get there, or
can't spend a few days playing around with parameters, hoping to stumble on
something new.

Let's say you have a though like, "What I need here is a string-ish patch,
but it needs more punch, like a brass sound has." Well, put your favorite
brass and string sounds into AN1x Genetix, and it will spit out 128
variations on the two sounds. If you then dump the sounds into the AN1x
and audition them, you'll probably find exactly what you're looking for --
or at least, something close enough to play around with.

Or, let's say you are looking for something totally different and
off-the-wall. Take two sounds that have almost nothing to do with each
other -- ex: a ring-modulated FM bell sound and a trumpet patch -- and see
what the program makes of them. If you don't like the first batch, try
again; it only takes a few seconds to create another "palette" of patches
on a PC, vs. hours or days of work by hand.

It's not exactly like video morphing, but the analogy is not completely off
base. It's extremely simple to use: It only has about four buttons, and
you need to push all four every time you use it!

I wish I'd thought of it first! :^)

Regards,

-BW

Ok it has something to do with morphing but it is rather a de-morphing.
Morph means form, this is a deformation, a morphing but without
polarization.

Note there is already a morphing utility built-in the AN1x that goes smoothly
from one sound to the other. You can save any stage in between.

Charles-Emmanuel
