Hi tom,

You mean like this. This is my personal opinion. Keep
the message on wich you reply in the mail and delete
the rest. We have to be able to track the subject
where someone is talking about.

greetings

Actually, I prefer the reply to be below the quotation. This gives
you an idea what exactly the context is. Unfortunately, Outlook
Express encourages the practice of putting all on top.

Hi Peter,

my mailprogram normally does it like this (above the
message (the newest is the most important), but i we
set a standard here on this list . . . I'll fix that.
Maybe we could do a poll on this. And then set the
"rules" acording to the outcome. I must say that on
the otherlists everyone just does what he or she likes
and this can be disturbing.

We could keep the all the members satified by this
poll
if the majority doesn't care, we don't care . . . if
not so . . . we'll stick with that.

I have a plan, Why don't we just DO OUR BEST to get rid of *any* unneccesary

"reply-induced" text, this is nice & orderly for the archives, AND it will
reduce the strain on people with slow connections, little mailboxes, etc.
Now: if at any time it happens that some unneccesary quotes are replied,
that will be considered okay too (PERHAPS even inevitable...), just send out
a simple and friendly reminder, and hopefully people will be considerate
toward it.
That seems to me by FAR the best solution for this issue.
I hope that everyone can find themselves at ease with this "middle of the
road"
solution. I trust it will be satisfying enough for everybody.
