!!!!! DeviceNo = NG Error !!!!!!

!!!!! DeviceNo = NG Error !!!!!!

2001-01-31 by jsbedard@hotmail.com

Hi folks. I have my an1x since 1 month. I've downloaded the An1xEdit
software and it works well. I've got only one problem :

First there's no troubles to send some midi data from An1xEdit to my
synth, it's ok! But when i try to "Request" from my synth to the
An1xEdit, i can only do it once. After i've got a "Receive error"
Retry/cancel error message. On my synth i can see Device = NG Error.
What the hell is that ??? My "device no" in the utility section of my
synth is set to "All", the same for the An1xEdit...
I don't understand...

could someone help me please?

thanks

Alex -
Neither you or Jean-Sébastien mention the type of MIDI Interface you
are using or which version of Windows you are running. I would assume
you're both running AN1xEdit v1.1 but this is the info other Win users
- Gary included - would need to help you :-) Going back to my Mac
now...Jon

Thanks for the interest in my problem !!! I'm running An1xEdit 1.1 on
Windows 2000. My sound card is a SoundBlaster live value.

Is there another question ?
thanks

Okay, I've never used a Sound Blaster card myself so I can't speak from
experience but it seems to me many SB users have difficulties with the
built-in MIDI port on the SB Live.

I suggest you do a search of the list archive here at Yahoo!Groups for
'SoundBlaster' or 'Sound Blaster' and you find a couple dozen posts on
the topic. My advice: buy a proper, dedicated MIDI Interface with a few
extra ports that you can grow into.
