Looks like a hybrid SU700/RM1x doesn't it? Personally, I'd hope it's
based on the A Series sound engine. Hope they fixed their horrible
SCSI.

FWIW - E-mu is introducing two similar table top boxes based on the
Mo'Phatt and Xtreme Lead sound engines - uncertain if the E-mu boxes
offer sampling...don't think so...there's nothing at the E-mu site yet
but there is at the Emulate Archives web site. Bears a slight
resemblance to the ASR-X except with lots of knobs ;-)

Yes i agree, could be a good Akai MPC competitor if:

Exactly.
Could be a good live-tool if they do it well, and an alternative for
my Logic Silver, if it has more MIDI-in/out´s than the RM1x.

It has...two MIDI-Outs...and if the RS7k also gets a stronger
processor than the one inside the EX5, this thing should be fine.

Hmmm...interesting, but it doesn´t include a sampler, doesn´t it?
Anyhow, i wonder when other companies will start to include Yamaha´s
PLG-Boards. A Roland with AN-Board, that would be cool...or not?
Anyhow.
