Off the An1x for a sec...

2000-10-23 by Darren M Boudreau

For the industrial music enthusiast - I recently bought a Digitech RP100
Guitar Effects pedal @ Guitar Center for $99 + tax. I got it mostly for
vocals. And I met this girl who(sings) wants to try something different.
Anyway... let me tell ya when I fed the Cs2x thru it using two sounds so
far that worked well(scary pad / shadow pad) it rocked bigtime. Sounded
like a deep heavy guitar depending on a few of the settings. Sweet momma
I'm in love. Heavy heavy heavy... you couldn't get that outta the effects
on board. I don't think. Ahhhhh... I love experimenting. Must try the
An1x thru it. Ooohhh...

Ok. Enuff of that... sorry didn't mean to... ruffle the equilibrium on
the list... I've been deep into sampling and putting some stuff
together... I love Acid...[ the program ]

Well... then... peace... .... yay... DSL in one more day...

Take it easy,
Darren

Hi Darren,

It really is about time I investigated the world of guitar effects
processing, particularly for all the tube, overdrive, distortion, and amp
emulators. The Line 6 Pod seems to be well respected. I guess my hesitation
is problems associated with recalling effect settings with each patch/track.
Do the guitar effect units regularly feature MIDI for this sort of thing?

By the way, I'm currently listening to the Underworld track "Kittens". Right
in the middle it disolves into a sea of heavily overdriven string pad
sounds. Absolutely wonderful stuff!

Cheers,

Phil

I suppose just as often as guitars feature MIDI... in other words, "not
really".

Umm...yes they do...If a guitar effects unit has a midi in/out or in/thru it's
specifically for patch (effect) changes -- guitarists largely use them via MIDI
pedals. I know for a fact that the Line6 Pod can handle patch changes via MIDI
as well as be able to be edited via a computer.
