Of topic Yamaha RMX1 using as an stepsequencer

2000-09-26 by Martijn

Hi,

Is it possible to use the stepsequencer of het RM1X as an stepsequencer to
trigger other
drumsounds.

If this is possible I want to make my rhythm tracks on the RM1X with drum
sounds from my
sampler (the A 5000).

Is there also an decent groove/shuffle function on the RM1X.

Best regards,

Martijn

I know this is not what you asked..but I know the mc303 can do this (albeit
not really since it jumps back the midisetting to it's internal sounds all
the time, instead of keeping the ext. midi setting.)

What I've heard about the rm1x is that it is actually very good for this
kinda stuff...are you thinking of buying one? Just for stepsequencing a 707
or 727 is very nice too...and cheap

I have an 727 but it is not possible with that. When I hit one of the 16
pads
I only hear the internal sounds an not the one in my sampler.
If the RM1X can do the job I am gonna buy one as soon as possible. I
only need to know if the shuffle is the same as on the TR 909.

Otherwise I am thinking of buying an MC 505 just for the stepsequencer,
because
I was told that it was possible with the MC 505 and the shuffle/groove
functions
are excellent, but the only problem is that I have most of the sounds
because I own
an JV 1080.

Greetings,

Martijn
