an1x technology---multitimbral??

an1x technology---multitimbral??

2000-09-17 by teomi@cs.com

hey guys. i am a new mwmber in this group. great postings and info
guys...i have the an1x for 2 years now and only now i got the time to
actually look for groups on the web (Duh...)

i agree with you all that this board is one of the most great
sounding of all analog like synths...the only thing that kills me is
that it's not really a multitimbral unit (only 2 when in dual mode)

doesn't it make you angry sometimes that is doesn't have this
capability??

my question is , is there a yamaha unit out there that uses the same
technology as the an1x but is at least 8 multi. ??
or,
how do you guys deal with this fact when doing a whole sequence with
overdubs etc??

thanks,
Eitan

Is there a way to convert a .syx bank of AN1x sounds to the .an1 format?

Sorry Elson I didn't include such a function into AN1xEdit (maybe I should
if ever there is a reason to produce an update).

Therefore, the only way to do this is to load the SYX bank into a suitable
sequencer (e.g. Cakewalk) and play them to the synth. Thereafter you can use
AN1xEdit to dump them back from the synth to an AN1 library file.

Ah - you forgot to mention to back up your existing AN1x bank, or else,
sayonara patches...
