NEW ROM v1.04

NEW ROM v1.04

2000-08-10 by Edwards, Ed

List,
Since my last post was sorta stupid, I now would like to
(prematurly) announce my aquisition of ROM v1.04. It arrived yesterday, in
a box, no documentation, in static prevention foam.
Unfortunately, that's all I can tell you for now, since I haven't
plugged it in yet. (I haven't got the service manual, but being a brave and
fearfighting technician, I'll probe the depths of screws 'n stuff and give a
report on how to replace the old chip.
Someone please update me on what the timing problem is with
sequencers. I don't sequence (externally) with it, but I'd like to be able
to produce the problem with the older ROM still installed (I've got v1.02 in
there now). Then I'll check to see if the new version solves this.
Finally, I'm sure you'll ask, "How did you get it?" I'll answer,
"The Yamaha web site has an email address for tech questions. When they
reply to you, you'll be asked to provide your name, address, the purchase
date and serial #. About a week or 2 later I got an email stating the ROM
was on its way. Total turnaround was about 1 month... total cost was $0.

Does Yamaha have a site in Korea?
I'm sure you can get it easily, since Korea's not that far from Japan.

It isn't listed and never has been. Ed specifically inquired on the
v1.04 ROM.

Hi Ed,

Could you be a little more specific??? I mean, could you send the "direct
link" to the page where the ROM 1.04 is listed or commented?

Re: NEW ROM v1.04

2000-08-10 by jondl@jdlx-musique.com

Ed,
I've posted a summary for most the timing/sync errors anybody ever
passed onto me at my site http://www.jdlx-
musique.com/support/an1x/tt_miditime.htm

My AN1x is on v1.02 and I was told that the timing problems existed
under v1.04 too but obviously I'd no way to confirm that info.

Be careful installing the ROM - wouldn't want any accidental damage
to put you out of commision.

Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

Hi All,

I may have missed something regarding the updated ROMS. I'm running v1.02 at
present. What are the improvements/bug-fixes etc. associated with the latest
version?

Cheers,

Phil
