PLG150 AN Factory Programs for AN1x

PLG150 AN Factory Programs for AN1x

2013-11-30 by <solar_tapestry@...>

Hello,

Does anyone have the PLG150 AN Factory programs converted to .an1 for use in the AN1x?

Looking through the voice archive here the only file I see are PLG_vce1.mid and PLG_vce2.mid. I not sure what these are. Tried to open with an factory but got an error.

In any event it would be great to have the 256 PLG150 AN programs for the AN1x.

Cheers!

Those are MIDI files. You need to play them through a MIDI player to your AN1x.

Apart from the fact that there are 128 and not 256, why would you need them? You can always reinitialise your voices by (partially) resetting the AN1x, and you get them back.

Yes, resetting the AN1x will provide the factory set of 128 programs for AN1x.

What I am requesting are the PLG150 AN factory programs for use AN1x.

The PLG150 AN contains 2 banks of 128 programs each. The "PLG150-AN FactoryDisks" archive located here for the PLG Disks contains several midi files of what I assume are sounds. PLG_vce1.mid and PLG_vce2.mid. being 2 of them. These arent read by AN1x as they are PLG150 AN format.

Someone would have to either bulk dump the disk banks to AN1x and post them here as an.factory doesnt read midi files.

If these PLG disk banks are saved out to .ANS format, then we can convert them to AN1x format.

Hi,

I don't know why an.factory will not read those files. I'm away on business right now, so cannot check for a few weeks, but I'll check once I am back home.

Cheers

I uploaded the PLG150AN preset banks 1 and 2 into the PLG150AN folder in files (in .ANS format). I don't know how well they will convert to AN1X. PLG presets that use osc1 multi saw, osc 2 tri, or osc X-mod  will not sound correct on AN1X.

Thanks mate - I tested these out and converted the 2 PLG150 AN Preset banks to AN1x format. Some good extra sounds in these banks for AN1x users.

The .an1 converted banks have been uploaded to the AN1x Voices directory likewise.

If you have time to upload .ans version of the remaining .mid sounds on the PLG disk whitch include Old_Tek, ProgRock, Trance, etc. I will check these, convert and post additionally.

Cheers!

Hi Derek,

Its been a while since I used an.factory. I wanted to test some conversions with additional files .an2/midi files and came up with java errors. I deleted java, an.factory, reinstalled the newest java version, an.factory but this error appears when attempting to launch the program:

"Error in Java launcher. Error while launching program with JVM."

Im a bit stumped in how to correct it as I cant cant get an.factory to work now.

Cheers,
Dan

Hi, Dan.

As mentioned I'm away on business until next weekend, so cannot look in detail until I get back. The Java launcher error could be a memory allocation issue. See the installation/configuration section of the docs for details.

Cheers
Derek
