Scenes have separate effects?

Hello all, recent happy owner of the AN1X and have a question.
I was using it multitimbral which I worked out ok however, in the manual it says each scene can have different fx levels but both of mine seem to share it.
Can anyone confirm or deny this and if so what I'm doing wrong?
