About OFFSET\GAIN resistors inside

About OFFSET\GAIN resistors inside

2012-10-17 by digital_plain

Hi guys! Can anyone tell me what this two resistors are - "gain" and "offset" on the keyb. board inside the synth? I'm going to make some service like replacing the battery and some capacitors, and just found this additional features.

its for the aftertouch

its for changing the sensitivety to the players liking

as its factory set as a standard but some pleople press softly other hard

but if your pressing it so hard that it feals like the keys are going to snap then adjust until you get the pressure you want

Has anyone tried replacing these resistors with some thing variable so that aftertouch can be re-adjusted if necessary or would it be more like a resistor swap which would then redefine aftertouch based on the resistors you replace them with. Anyone done this? I'm finding the aftertouch way too sensitive -- its almost like all or nothing with very little expression in between with my playing (albeit horrible) style.

These resistors act on aftertouch "sensitivity" (offset) and "range"
(gain).
Cheers.

reduce the gain

and they sould be trimmers

its the same after touch board as used by dx7 and all yamaha and most korgs

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly.

Are the resistors mentioned in the original message in fact trimmers whereby no modification is necessary? Could I then just adjust the gain trim pot to affect the aftertouch sensitivity? If so, could you describe where the gain trim pot is located or post photos of its location? Would be very much appreciated.

Yes !
first reduce the gain and after trim the offset if necessary . Too much
offset = reduced range , too much gain = excessive sensitivity.
After touch can be activated or not when you program a sound, if you
don't need it edit your sound and remove it.
I'm a bit surprised you talk about resistors...it should be trimmers...
Cheers.
