Hi, i would like to tell you what i found today with my AN200 (maybe you can do it on the AN!x too, let me know).
I have a patch with no notes in it, and i record 4 different automations with the free EG recording method, each one with 8 bars.
Now i push play on the synth, and since there are no notes in the sequence i still have the EG automation running.
To hear the automation you just need to play your midi keyboard and this way you will have new expressions in playing free from a closed 1 bar loop.
If you record midi in Live the possibilities are endless...
