AN1x Edit on OSX through Crossover?

AN1x Edit on OSX through Crossover?

2012-04-13 by Abraham

Hello all! It's good to know this group is still active after all these years! As the subject states, I was a wondering if anyone has been able to successfully run AN1x Edit on OSX (specifically on 10.7.3, as that is what I'm running) through Crossover. I have been able to install it, and open it without issue. Heck it even let's me assign midi ports within the setup tab, without installing windows drivers for my MOTU Timepiece AV. Unfortunately, thats as far as I can get. AN1x Edit won't let me successfully dump my patches into the program. Has anyone here been able to successfully get this going? I'm hoping someone here can show me the errors of my ways and help me out of this predicament.
Is there another, easier way to get AN1x Edit running on my Mac, maybe? Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Abe

Abraham,

Instead of Crossover, I recommend using the native OS X program CTRLR,
which has the ability to edit the AN1x/AN200, as well as many other synths.

http://ctrlr.org/page.php?p=downloads

Then use the AN1x device panel, available for download here.

http://ctrlrv4.sourceforge.net/page.php?p=ddb

I spent too much time trying to deal with all that AN1xEdit/ANEasy Editor
on OS 9 and Windows XP before I came across CTRLR.

Give it a go! Hopefully that should work for you.

Does this require a detailed knowledge of programming to be able to build an editor?

Hey there Cdouglas, Abe here again. I really like this program, It's awesome to be able to open this up as a plugin within my host software. I just wish it had a Free EG section, as that's the reason I wanted to install AN1x edit. Oh well. I still really dig this though, and appreciate all of your help!
