AN1x patch

AN1x patch

2012-04-08 by George

Hello, I am new to the group. I picked up one of these just the other day. I was amazed at how versatile and great sounding they are. I listened to youtube videos before buying and was sold. Does anyone have the Pink Floyd, Dark side of Moon arp or I think its actully Seq. patch that the guy on youtube is playing at yamaha_An1x_virtual_analog_synth
www.dan.mus.br-1 At 3:35 seconds. Of course the website is not there anymore. Thanks Geo.

Hi,

I actually play in a Pink Floyd Tribute band (www.purefloyd.co.uk) and used to use a patch called Floyd BS on a PLG-150AN inside my Motif Rack ES. That was until I found that my Nord G2 Engine had an even better one!

Anyway, I'm not aware of a public domain version of the patch that is freely shareable. The one I used is from a commercial library so I can't share it (copyright and all that).

The patch I used is available in the Regenerator library for the PLG150-AN from the Motifator shop.

http://shop.motifator.com/index.php/regenerator-voice-bank-for-use-with-the-plg150an.html

A registered copy of my an.factory librarian (www.xfactory-librarians.co.uk) can convert PLG150-AN voices to AN1x format. I just tried it this morning and that patch plays fine on my AN1x.

If you want to make the sequence yourself, it's quite easy to knock up: E2, G2, A2, G2, D3, C3, D3, E3 as an 8th note repeating sequence, played at 165 BPM.

HTH

Cheers
Derek

I actually have a plg 150an in my 12 years old "motif classic" as they call it now. I never really dwellved into it much so I never really got all the good out of it that can be had. I have an old OB-8 that has bit the dust and nobody around here wants to fix it. Do you know if you can use the AN1x editor to move plg 150 sounds into the an1x? So the regenerator has only 128 patches? Its software right? Is not a seperate card? 35 bucks is it worth it?
Geo.

Nobody wants to fix a classic OB8? Yikes!

Is Regenerator worth the money? Well 128 patches at $35 for the collection is 27 cents a patch. Think of the time taken to create them, and I'd say it's a bargain. An opinion like "is it good" is subjective, so whilst I might be happy with them, opinions may vary. You can check out their sound demos.

AN1x edit can read/write ANS files. But the Regenerator patches for the PLG card come as a MID file. an.factory (mentioned in my previous post) can convert between the different formats, so you can create an ANS file from a MID file if you wanted to go editing them.

Cheers
Derek

I didn't look for the YouTube clip, but chances are it's the patch named "Running" from the Illusion folder in the UK Voices archive - available right here in this group in the Files section. Look in the AN1x Voices folder, then scroll down to the Yamaha_UK_Voices.zip archive (or read the yamaha_uk.htm index first, which describes the contents).

I got mine on a disk with my AN1x; didn't listen to it for a while, programmed that sequence myself to use in my Floyd tribute band, then found the one on the disk that's much better than mine. Still using it for On The Run - just let it run and play with the filter knobs - woo hoo! I'm also still using the "Future City" patch from the same Illusion folder, which is a split that almost nails the intro to Shine On.

Van
