AN1x User Guide

AN1x User Guide

2011-09-18 by KirbyD

Is there a good way to learn what all the synth can do? I find the user manual somewhat lacking. I've searched for tutorials and didn't find anything. I would love an easy to follow guide that shows you what parameters there are, what effect they have and how to use them, and what the limitations are.

Thanks

I would love some similar info as well - i've owned my AN1x for a while now and still have no idea how to really program it... I bought a fizmo a couple weeks ago and already i can create sounds quite well on it... i just find the an1x interface to be confusing.

get the soft editor from the files section as it helps you see what things are doing

as for limitations polyphony is about it but then again it still has more polyphony than the best analog synths of the time which was 8 notes

the other thing is play and tweak i find that the best way to find out what a certain param does to the sound

is press 1 key and tweak that param and see how it changes the timbre over time

Check out the Voice Set-up Guide (PDF) in the FIles Section for AN1x-list here at Yahoo! Groups:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x-list/files/Manuals%20%26%20Guides/

The examples correspond the the Tutorial sound bank (both provided by Yamaha way back when...) also in the Files Section:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x-list/files/AN1x%20Voices/

You'll find it in the Yamaha UK Voices archive.

Regards,

Jon

Is there a blue book for the AN1x ? I know there's one for the CS1X ....If anyone can point me in the right direction to get one for the AN1x I'd be grateful ( are there associated files too like in the CS1x blue book too?)
