Hi all,

I just recently put in an new battery in the good 'ol AN1X to bring it back to life again! Please bear with me I am no proper keyboardist.

Working with a new band, I've got some questions I hope some might answer.

I just found out someone wrote a AN1x vst. I installed in Nuendo 4 and it seems to work ok, although I dont really see much of the AN1x in the layout, but I also havent spent time enought with it. Will this VST load .an1 patches? or .mid? Anyone using this VST? How good is it?

Question 2 - what is the mixmap for cubase for exactly? I loaded it up in Nuendo, but I dont see/feel any difference, nothing happens, etc... What is this for?

If you have a link to that vst and post it, we could test the specs.
There are VSTs that can load in patches, like f.e. the discoDSP
Discovery, that loads Clavia Nord Lead Patches and even can export
them.

But from my experiences a vst will never reach the quality of a real
synth. (At least I hear the differences)

The VSTi he's referencing is located in the Files section of AN1x-list here at Yahoo! Groups

It's been many years since it was posted - don't recall that there was any form of file compatibility. You'll need to search the list archives for the original thread - it's been quite some time...

I wish that some one will take AN1x Editor and make it vst .

Hello !
i can't see any interest in making a virtual copy of a virtual (!)
analog synth easily available second hand for not so much money....
Let's make vst "clones" of rare, expensive or disappeared instruments,
OK, that's worth the try : old Moogs, ARPs, Mellotrons and so on. I
can't afford a modular Moog, i have not enough room to display it in my
living room and don't want to spend nights chasing a dead transistor or
a leaky capacitor, so in this case let's go vst !
