Hi,

Whilst, it's a librarian and not an editor, my an.factory librarian works on both Windows and OSX. You can find it on www.xfactory-librarians.co.uk

If there was enough demand, I would consider doing an editor.

Cheers
Derek

I think MIDI Quest XL is the only *current* Editor/Librarian that will run under Mac OS X 10.5

http://www.squest.com/Macintosh/MidiQuestXL/MidiQuest-XLFeatures.html

I've a copy of Sound Diver public beta 2 that works fine, but *if* you could find a download you would _still_ need an XS Key to run it :-(

I kept a partition with Mac OS X 10.4 so I can run Mac OS Classic and AN1xEdit, but to be honest I seldom make the effort. I'm comfortable navigating the AN1x front panel and don't much miss AN1xEdit.

If you have a spare XP license available, why not running a simple
Windows session in VirtualBox? Using a usb-midi thingie wouldn't be much
of a problem for VirtualBox (or any other virtual solution which
supports USB passthrough). That way you can run An1xEdit regardless of
platform.

Not sure though how it would work with other (non usb-)midi interfaces, but most
of them could probably be patched through using various solutions.

Unfortunately my USB Midi interface isn't ready yet
(http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=gm5_expansion_5x5_board)
otherwise I could test it out and tell you whether it works from a Linux
perspective :D

[AN1x] Re: editor for mac OS 10.5

Hi.
It took me ages to work this out too.
I even had a go at working out my sons (pc) laptop to try & sort it out (!!) not an easy mission.
midiquest is like $300 or something, which might be great if you have 30 synths, but is a bit much to pay for one little AN1x.
ANfactory is much more realistically priced, and I would have got that, except for the fact that I just got given 'parallels for mac', so I now run AN1x edit on windows XP, which works fine, although I have to disconnect the midi out of the AN1x if I want to load sounds into the synth, and dissconnect the midi IN when I want to save sounds to the computer. some sort of midi thru issue of something.
leaving both in & out of the USB-MIDI cable connected caused all sorts of 'illegal data' type stuff.

Hello BTW ;) newby here, to yahoo groups.

btw. there is a rather new project on http://www.ctrlr.org/ that tries to
provide a general midi-controller for windows, mac and linux.
You could at least tweak sound for the AN1X with it, but I don't know how
deep this goes into step-s. and arps.
But I saw somewhere that someone tried to make a file for the AN1X.
