Live I play the AN1X and an EMU Vintage Keys rack module. Is there a way to turn the sound of the EMU up and down without physically walking over and turning the knob? Thanks Jimmy

Typically MIDI Controller 7 is controlling the volume, if the device complies to midi standards. First affect a MIDI controller number to one of the knobs of the AN1x. The CC number must be recognized by your EMU, and of course do what you want it to do, and likely do nothing to the AN1x itself. Unless you want to change one parameter on both synths with the same knob... Then check if this type of MIDI input data is not filtered by the EMU, a lot of instruments have a more or less flexible incoming data filter, to avoid the processing of useless data by the processor, which is rarely a race engine.... Cheers. J.F. P.S. : Of course i suppose that you have the MIDI implementation chart of both instruments... >

And if your AN1x is responding to volume from a Foot Volume pedal, it's also sending #7 via Midi Out. Hit the Device button (lower right of the Control Matrix) and select FV and see if it's set to "7:MainVol". If it isn't, use the Ctrl No button change it to "7:MainVol". If you want to use another controller - any of the knobs, wheels, etc - to control the EMU, select one of them with the Device button and set it to "7:MainVol" with the Ctrl No button. The Vintage Keys should already be set up to receive volume control via controller #7. I don't have a Vintage Keys but my Proteus (normally run from a KX88 but sometimes from the AN1x) default volume control is #7. I can change the controller assignmnent on the Proteus; if your Vintage Keys isn't responding to #7 volume, maybe someone changed it. You should be able to set it to whatever you want. If you don't have a Vintage Keys manual, there should be one online. Van
