Setting up An1xedit to receive bulk dump

Setting up An1xedit to receive bulk dump

2010-10-23 by Andrei Liviu

Hi all,

This may be somewhat of a novice question. I recently got myself an An1x and gradually replaced many presets with my own patches. I'm trying to save these for when the day will come I'll have to switch batteries.

I follow the instructions in the manual (making sure device no. is the same, etc) but I can't seem to get An1x to receive bulk dump - or any sort of transmission. I think I must be doing something wrong, since I have no experience with SysEx whatsoever.

Can anybody give a brief step by step overview on how to set the An1x editor up for storing patches? Would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Andrei Popescu

Hello !
first, make sure that your MIDI port works, and is recognized by AN1x
edit (SETUP menu -> MIDI port setup).
If you only want to store temporarily all your patches without any
further editing (to change the battery for example) you have an
alternate solution using "MIDI Ox", a basic MIDI files freeware easily
found on internet.
Cheers.

Hello Andrei,

Just forget what the manual says ;-)

In anixedit press receive button on the right. You have to select the slots in the editor where you want to save your patches first. If the midi works okay that should be it.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The MIDI port works and is recognized; that's all I need to do right? But then when I send bulk from the An1x nothing happens on An1xedit screen...

Anyway, I will give Midi Ox a try, I dont need to edit patches on the computer since I prefer doing that on the synth itself. Just saving for battery change. :)
