Battery Replacement: Holder or Solder?

Battery Replacement: Holder or Solder?

2010-02-21 by Gerry

Hi, folks!

Has someone ever replaced the internal battery?
I had my AN1x open. So far it almost looked like a (different kind of) holder but after not getting the battery out manually Im not that secure and so far not trying it at a venture anymore.

Could please anyone tell me what it hundredpercently is? I know by myself that it looks like a holder but is it indeed any making it possible getting the battery out manually without soldering or cutting?
Knowing that would help a lot.

Regards
Gerry

There's a release catch you have to push over slightly to remove the
battery.

there's a release tab (piece of metal if I recall) on one side of the holder, pushing it across will pop the battery right out UNLESS someone in the past has had trouble and replaced it with a solder in type holder (unlikely though). Anyway if it's the original holder it's easy to remove, just a standard holder with release catch.

Hi Gerry !
the battery is hold in its socket by a metal clip (spring) . Use a small
screwdriver or a knife blade as a lever to slip it out. It is not
soldered and you cannot go wrong putting the new one in place (the minus
side is slightly smaller than the plus).
Cheers.
