I guess using VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org/) gives too much
latency for using AN1xedit? (Try using VirtualBox Puel,
http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/VirtualBox_PUEL)

Wouldn't know whether the midiports get replicated either. Perhaps with
a USB-midi controller device you'd be able to use that in virtualbox.

Saves you a partition and rebooting hassle. On the otherhand, with
dual/multi boot you do get 100% cpu time and none of the virtualisation
lags :D
