Newbie here

2009-11-04 by stashofsteel

Just bought a used anx1 today. I'm very excitied about my purchase. I scrolled through the presets and some sounds decent are pretty decent. I can tell this thing could be a beast. My question is this?
How do I upload the patches to the an1x. I see all kinds of patches in the file section. I assume it has to do with midi. If some one could lead me to the answer I'd be most greatful.

Welcome to the club !
You can download patches on the website, or may i say you could ? You'll
have to store them in your synth by MIDI, yes. Use the AN1x editor or
MIDIox, a basic but useful freeware.
I can forward you some sound banks if i remember where they are...
BUT the most exciting thing on an "analog" instrument is to experiment
with the knobs and pots to discover what does an oscillator, a filter
resonance, the different filter slopes and VCO waveforms.... and to
taylor your own sounds. Do you have the manual ? OK, IMHO it cannot be
regarded as a model, but it gives the essential "know how".
If you're not familiar with such instruments take your time to discover
the limitations (10 note polyphony for ex.) and the exciting sounds of
this synth. Very under rated, it is not as famous as the Nord Leads or
other Viruses, but very powerful and with some outstanding features like
the free E.G. or the step sequencer.
Cheers.

I just downloaded an1X edit from the files section onto a computer running Vista where i was reading my e-mail. The program ran suscessfully. As always, especially with Windows OS, YMMV.

Hello !
What really works with Vista ?? :-P
I use AN1x edit with XP pro and everything is OK .A small imperfection :
the window is rather small, made for lower screen resolutions, but
nothing serious.

Hello,

I've successfully used AN1xEdit with Windows 7 and Linux too (using the wine windows compatibility libraries)/
