The Yahoo! GeoCities web service is being discontinued as of October 26. The AN1x FAQ has been hosted on my account with the free GeoCities service since it's inception.

It should be obvious from the lack of update to the FAQ I've not made time to maintain or update the FAQ a priority. Furthermore, I've no statistics to determine how well visited it has been - or not.

What this means is the AN1x FAQ needs a new home if it is to continue. I'm unwilling to spend time or money to transition to a pay-to-play web host, but I would be happy to assist in transferring the source HTML and any source materials to a new owner/host. Otherwise I will eventually pursue transferring the HTML to the Files section here at Yahoo! Groups as time permits.

How big is the FAQ? Is there any size limitation preventing it being
uploaded to the Files section of this group?

I've got a few (paid for) domains that I could put the html files up on... lots of storage and they are not going away anytime soon and are fully under my control.

This AN1x website is a kind of very useful information source, as
Yamaha no longer supports AN1x.
Its death would be a loss for everyone playing this instrument or
wishing to purchase one second hand.

This is a great idea, thanks Bob. I'd forgotten about the Database option. There's even a template for FAQ. I've started a draft copy just to get my head wrapped around how to convert the FAQ (will probably be an improvement over my layout - hahaha) Looks like it will be an hour or two of cut & paste.

The only negative that I perceive is that you need to be a group member to access the FAQ. On the positive side, it will be far easier to add new topics based on our discussions here.

I appreciate all the offers to host the FAQ at other web sites - Derek's site would probably makes the most sense because of the related content.

I've got to deal with the same situation regarding ASRXCITE, but that's a lot more content so I'm less inclined to convert all of it to the ASRX list... but thats neither here nor there.

I've converted over the AN1x FAQ to the Database here at Yahoo! Groups:

There's still some clean-up to be performed and a couple of item are still in need of revision. Feel free to provide any feedback on the organization or the content in general.

I've taken a few minutes to clean up the Links section and get rid of some of the unrelated noise. The Files section is next - needs some clean-up I think...
