OT: Get Together in the DC Metro Area

OT: Get Together in the DC Metro Area

2009-01-10 by Jon

Sorry for the OT, but I'm posting to inquire if any other list members in the DC / MD / VA
area would be interested in meeting up at some central location?

It's been some years since we've last done this, and our old friend UGO is trying to put
something together over at KVR-Audio.

Reply to me offline and we'll sync up with UGO's effort.

Regards,

Jon

AN200 related question

2009-01-10 by YE DI

Hi AN-fellows out there,

I'd have two simple question to You, all AN200 users.

1. As I understood one can store/save/replay 10 different songs with the AN200. How long these songs can be? I mean minutes/seconds.

2. Do the AN200 and DX200 synths have the same drum engine/sounds?

Thanx for Your help!
Yours,
Yedi

There is probably a maximum note (event) capacity for the sequencer which means,
depending on your arrangement, it will be variable.

According to this review, yes they share the same drum engine/sounds:

This effort is still in the planning stages, but you can follow the progress in this thread at
KVR;

I think a weekend in April, or May, appears to be most likely. Sorry for the OT.

MAC OS X 10.4 Software editor for AN200?

2009-04-28 by Marco Benatti

Dear all

I m looking for software editor for my AN200 for the MAC OS X 14.4.11. Does anyone have an editor?

I have the original one of yamaha but does not suppor OS X 10.4.

The problem with the AN200 is that is not possible to change the pitch of the oscillators in the hardware but only in the software. So I would only need an editor to set up the pitch of the ascillators.

If anyone of you has some ideas or know where to find an editor please let me know.

Thanks and best regards

Marco

AN1xEdit and AN200 Editor will run within Classic under OS X if you have OMS installed in Classic along with the comparable driver for your USB MIDI Interface. This is true for Mac PPC, not so for Mactel machines as they don't support Classic.

OMS has been discontinued for many years now, so none of the recent MIDI Interfaces provide a driver for it. Your best bet is to pick up a late model USB MIDI Interface from MIDIMAN, Opcode, MOTU, or Emagic. I have an Emagic MT4 which works a treat under Classic with AN1xEdit.

If you're running a Mactel then you could install Windows with Bootcamp, or an equivalent, and use the Win version of the above Yamaha software.
