Does anyone know of (or is it very easy to create?) a tool to sort different voices. I have lots of eg Pads spread across many banks. It would be helpful to have them all in one place. Does anyone know of a simple way to do this? TIA Andrew

OK, that's a little tedious, but it works. The AN1x itself has a "sort" function but it is very basic, see the website for details. Cheers J.F.

Hello All, I've been slack with the AN1x. and haven't used an editor in a few years. I recently moved over to the macverse with a machine running Leopard. What can I use like the an1xedit of old? Is there a program that will run under Leopard or on XP (which I run in VMware Fusion)? thanks much, nick

The AN1xEdit runs fine with XP, but I never tried it on a virtual machine like VMware... More precisely, on my computer (withXP pro SP2, AMD processor) it does not crashes, you can move in the menus, store and so on.. I don't use it very much , i don't have tested it extensively. Hi, I produce a Java librarian for the AN1x (and other synths). I currently use this to organise my favorite AN1x sounds by copying my favorite sounds to a collection of AN1 files with the files representing different categories. E.g. one file for pads, one for leads, etc. But the next version of the program, due in a few months, will have the ability to store every AN1x patch you have in a single database, which you'll be able to filter and audition when looking for sounds, and of course you will be able to copy patches from the database back to AN1 or SYSEX files for sending to the AN1x You can find it over at www.xfactory-librarians.co.uk <http://www.xfactory-librarians.co.uk/> Cheers Derek --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, "andrewhall999" <andrew@...> wrote: > > Does anyone know of (or is it very easy to create?) a tool to sort > different voices. Thanks Jeff and Summa, It just goes to show how incredibly slack I've been. I've had an XP machine as my main box at home for about 4 years or so, but have never done any midi work w/ it because I haven't bothered to buy a midi interface. Before that I was running a win98 box I had built and using a game port>midi adapter. Once I pay off my new mac and a new muffler I plan on buying a small inexpensive interface for the laptop. The m-audio fast track pro can be had for under $150 or we'll see what ~$200 firewire boxes come down at NAMM. I would be surprised if I couldn't get An1xedit to run on XP in a vmware window on the mac. I'll let you all know how it fares when I finally get that far. Happy new year! -nick
