Hmm ... it seems that you cannot morph scenes that have different pitches without it thinking the morph is a pitch morph.  In addition, I discovered that I had to enable the SCENE control thing to be set to ScneSel too, but once I did that it started gliding up the octave whenever I played with the assignable knob.

However, when I changed the pitch of both synth bass noises to both be -12, it stopped changing pitch during the morph.  I am a little irritated that I cannot effectively use the morph control as a balance control between two bass sounds in different octaves, but hey I guess that's life.

Any further thoughts would be appreciated.

I've got the same results than you...
What you have to keep in mind is that morphing is not a simple volume 
mix, all the sound parameters are affected between their both initial 
values, including pitch.
Perhaps could you try to "layer" your 2 noises on the keyboard (i.e. : 
they're played together) and find a "real" balance control between the 2 
sounds. I've never tried that, but it's (IMO...) possible, using a knob 
or a continuous controller properly assigned.
It's one of the weak points of the AN1x: it has only one output, and not 
2 or 3 like similar instruments on which you can assign one sound to one 
output and mix them at will. But it is not so obvious without an 
external mixer: on my Red Sound expander (fitted with 3 stereo outputs 
and 2 aux inputs) i have to toggle between these channels because there 
is only one pair of pots for pan and volume control. Rather difficult to 
change something "live"!
On another hand the "morph" function is not so common and can result in 
sometimes really weird sounds!
