I just got my version 1 AN1x and I went through the 128 sounds presets that also double as user soundsI was able to store my own sounds on top of the PRESETS?..Where are the other 128?I would like to load all the AN200 sounds into my unit but how to do this?I figured how to edit the sounds already on the AN1x but a few of the favorite sounds I wanted this for in the first place are not found in this an1x only on the an200!Help anyone..echo co..;).I can not find ANY such common sense info on the net or user groups for some odd reason.

At the same "place", thanks to the "scene 1" - "scene 2" switches!
Select either "scene1" or "scene2", depending on the factory sound you
want to keep, when you edit or store a new sound.
In "normal" use, select one "scene" or the other (i.e. select one of the
sounds) with the switches, not both.
On another hand you can use the mod wheel to "morph" between the 2
sounds, assuming that this controller is enabled in the patch and
assigned to "scene morphing". The default setting of the mod wheel is
the vibrato speed, but it can be assigned to many other things
("morphing", effect parameter and so on..).
Caution !
The "morphing" can give curious (and sometimes awful !) results
depending on the sound stored in each "scene". I got nice results with 2
slightly different sounds (mostly with organ type sounds) . If they are
too different the transition can be horrible, or, if you're lucky, on a
special position of the wheel you get an interesting "3rd sound"
completely different from the 2 others.
Some patches use both "scenes" together... if you write something else
in one the original sound is lost.
If everything goes wrong you can recall the factory presets (see on the
website for emergency procedures).

I'm no "software addict", but IMO you must use the editor, if there is
any way to "translate" AN200 into AN1x. I suppose it's possible, but let
the specialists talk! Never tried, having no AN 200....
Cheers!

As Jeff already explained, there are only 12 Voice, i.e. programs, in the AN1x memory at one time. However, each Voice has 2 scenes which may be layered, split, morphed, or switched between independently depending on the Voice Layer options. Each Scene in a Voice may be assigned individual MIDI Channels when the Layer is set to Dual allowing the AN1x to function as a dual timbral device if you so choose. What are the different file types? (.AN1, .ANP, .ANS, & .AN2) .AN1 files are the original AN1x format used by AN1xEdit. .ANP files are the PLG150-AN & AN200 format used by AN1xEdit. .ANS files are the Yamaha XGWorks Sequencer plug-in AN Editor file format. These file should be used only for compatibility with the XGWorks environment. .AN2 files are the AN200 format used by the Yamaha AN200 Editor package. .ANS files are not handled well on the Mac version of AN1xEdit, but I think the Win version handles them correctly. Success!Tonight I made the sounds I seeked by hand in the An1x thanks to Jeff and to the ideas as well as my own determination!I have the sounds ready in the An1x to upload to the user group for others to enjoy but I have to put a midi sound card first which I also aquired tonight.I will then use the an1xedit to save the sounds for other to enjoy! Thanks so much.Ah for your info..the BASE sounds I edited if nothing else are "FLOYD75 and MEGA DRONE!I used the dual layer, unison legato modes which use all 4 osc voices for the fattest synth lead sounds. The filter section and portamento turned on to 1 for time and mono legato mode are important for max sweetness.DETUNE at 17 for the unison and if you are into a heavier harsher synth sound..use PULSE waves instead of saw..I found this out too..sync setting to ON and rise the sync pitch to any that you like and make it FIXED.This will do it to it for the sweet 3osc filter sweep sound from the FM8 software synth that became possible in the an200 too!I hope this helps till I get setup to upload. Thanks again all! --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, "Johanes Emmanuelli" <mipopete@...> wrote: > > --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, "Jon" <jondl_2000@> wrote: > > > > --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, "Johanes Emmanuelli" <mipopete@> > wrote: > > > > > > I just got my version 1 AN1x and I went through the 128 sounds presets > > > that also double as user soundsI was able to store my own sounds on > > > top of the PRESETS?..Where are the other 128? > > > > As Jeff already explained, there are only 12 Voice, i.e. programs, > in the AN1x memory at > > one time.
