Re: Didgeridoo

The didgeridoo is a unique instument all by itself, it will NOT be easy
to emulate
as other more easy things like strings or drums orso, IMHO, ofcourse :)

I'm living in the Netherlands by the way, but i am half of a Spaniard,
and about 80% of my family live in Spain. :)
I think typical instruments of Spain are flutes by the way, and other
wind instruments (not even necessarily woodwinds :)
I think Italy and Germany are most known for their piano virtuosi, and
in that sense i compare the 'native instruments' from Spain. :)
What's the North American instrument? The ukelele? The banjo? ;) (little
bit of funmaking from my part here)
The Netherlands don't have a typical instrument as far as i know, unless
you can make music on/with wooden shoes. ;)

Well my intention behind "emulating" the didgeridoo with the AN1x is
of course not to get a realistic sounding copy...i mean, come
on...it´s only pure substractive synthesis in our little blue AN, not
sampling or anything. But to try it, can create on the way a lot of
interesting new sounds, i think.

LOL...yikes...i see...:)))

But seriously...does it somehow "improve" your music when play on
AN1x? I used to make some music with a dude, a couple of years ago,
who smoked a lot (and i mean a LOT) of pot, while we were jamming. My
impression was that he sometimes went too far into his own world,
while playing and his music became way too bizarre (even for me ;)
and yes...boring and bad. (And he didn´t liked my AN1x also...when i
bought it...)

To be honest, I never tried it. Most of the occasions when I was smoking
pot were here at home with friends (non-geargeeks :)
But it could be a challenge; creating patches while being stoned like a
shrimp (?)

Where's that An1X-poll? :D

Hm...i don´t know...i think drugs in general just makes you loose
control about yourself, makes you numb in your head, sure it says
about pot, that it sharpens your senses, but really...i think the
person who said this, had already too much of it...

Though i see that pot is a much better medical help for ppl who have
to do a chemo-therapy and so forth, than the so called "classical"
medicine.
But waaay OT now.

Back to AN.

I notice that, when I drink alcohol in some quantity (the only drug I'll
ever use and yes, I do live in Amsterdam), my eye-sight gets better,
sharper.

Which is quite remarkable, though I should mention that my contact lenses
come in at -20.

Hm, alcohol makes your bloodlines wider...that´s why some ppl get
rosy cheeks and noses from drinking alcohol... maybe it also widens
your pupils and you have the subjective impression you can see
better...i wear glasses and i don´t think it let me better
see...maybe i do, but my brain gets too foggy to have an advantage
from that. I tried once, after drinking a few beer, to
compose...well...now i know drugs and making music are not
compatible....and when you are drunken, the risk that you might break
your AN1x by spilling beer (or something else =) on it is way to high.
