I believe I do not have an insurance recourse because there are certain packing rules you have to follow to make a damage claim if the item was fragile to begin with.....plus I doubt he bought the insurance even though I asked him for it......I am only sad I have some extra work to do......the final settled price was good for me......

before changing anything , was there some kind of insurance on the parcel?
I think that UPS could do something for you if the parcel they've
delivered is damaged .....

OK, but if the've accepted to ship your parcel, they have accepted the
packing too ...
And what's about your dealer? Maybe you can write or E-mail him for some
refund, because it's him that has provided the box ...

The seller actually refunded 75% of my price so that's why I accepted
keeping the AN1x and concluding the transaction as-is....

Relieved so far that the audio/dsp sections of my damaged AN1x seem to
work fine. Just a couple of questions to make sure my baby does not
have problems:

(1) Is there a backlight or contrast adjustment for the LCD (could not
find mention in the manual). Contrast and visibility seem low....is
this a normal AN1x thing?

(2) Aftertouch seem overly sensitive on all of the presets I
tried...is there a aftertouch global adjustment or is this issue maybe
due to the broken keys?

No Contrast adjustment.

It is not a result of the borken key, Aftertouch on the AN1x is very sensitive.

Using the Control Matrix under the [VOICE/SCENE SETUP] menu you can scale the Depth
amount when AT is assinged as a Source to a Parameter in a Voice , but this doesn't affect
AT which appears at the MIDI Out. So when used as a controller for other devices you'll
need to employ some other method to scale or filter AT at your MIDI Sequencer or MIDI
module(s).

Yes ! It was probably designed to play at night only :-P , mine is like
yours ...

I don't think so . Some presets does not use after touch , try to remove
it and compare .
