PLG150-AN affecting Motif's performance

PLG150-AN affecting Motif's performance

2006-09-13 by Steve Cooke

I've got a PLG150-AN installed in my Motif Classic, but I've found
using it a frustrating experience.

That's because the PLG board appears to impair the performance of the Motif.

What I mean is that when I'm playing back a sequence I've programmed
into the Motif and I'm looking for an appropriate analogue-style voice
to use from the PLG board, I find that dialing through the voices
frequently causes the sequence playback to faulter.

It will jump a beat, stop momentarily, and that sort of thing.

This doesn't happen when I'm dialing through different voices from the
Motif's internal selection.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and, if so, are there any ways around it?

Regards,

It is perfectly normal for the Motif to respond more slowly in ALL
modes when selecting new PLG voices. Remember it's a separate
synthesizer that just happens to sit inside the Motif. I've long ago
gotten used to this and never even think about it any more!
