Probably the encoder control just needs some cleaning....all my Yamaha synths get this way....

Just spray some good contact cleaner down the shaft of the control and work the control back and forth...

  Hi,

Aswell as my problems with the pops and clicks when turning the AN1x
  on I have another problem.
The problem is that when I am editing sounds by turning certain knobs
in the VCF page the values move about. An example I have is when I set
the value on the filter cutoff to 0 it automatically moves back up to
97 and moves between 97 and 91. It also affects the sound.

I am findng this very annoying as it is depriving me from editing
  sounds.

I am a very unhappy man:(

  Arthur

Doe this occur only when you turn the control/data encoder to a new position? If so, then the encoder just need to be cleaned or replaced......all my later Yamaha synth gear have encoder issues when they get dirty as they are not sealed controls....

Hi Bob,

I don't turn any knobs or buttons, the problem happens when I switch
on the AN1x after a few hours. When I switch the synth on, the edit
indicator instantly appears and thats when the VCF cutoff goes all
crazy.
